Children and pets are the center of attention at the Hal’s Children’s Parade & Festival and the Hollywood Feed Pet Parade. All are welcome in the areas surrounding the Mississippi Art Museum where there will be scheduled activities and entertainment for the whole family from 9:00am until 2:00pm!
Inky the Clown, with his unique brand of juggling, comedy and magic, will be Master of Ceremonies, for the children’s area festivities along Pascagoula Street.
Children of all ages are encouraged to dress up and show off their best costumes as they parade for their parents on Lamar Street. Dogs, goats, horses and more are expected to be adorned in their finest Irish or themed costumes by their owners and walked around Lamar Street for all to see and to raise funds to support Mississippi Animal Rescue League (MARL). Trophies for The Clarion-Ledger Children’s Parade and Hollywood Feed Pet Parade will be awarded for 1) Creativity, 2) Originality and 3) Performance, immediately following each parade on the steps of the Planetarium on Lamar Street.
The Mississippi Museum of Art invites attendees of all ages to experience the festivities from the comfort of The Art Garden—Downtown Jackson’s premiere public green space. During Hal’s St. Paddy’s Parade, the Museum will offer food from The Palette Café, refreshments, Bloody Marys and beer on tap. Visit www.msmuseumart.org for more information.
